That's right the NY Times published it, because they tend to lean left and take a liberal stance on issues. This may be taken out of context, as I'm sure it was by the "black radio", your words not mine. I'm pretty sure the author of this comic was bashing the right wingers who have a hard-on for overly excessive gun use and a general hate for blacks. Or at least that's how I read it.
Actually. Since I live in NYC, let me clarify. It was a TASTELESS joke, meant infuriate an unforgivably pacified city. It was pointless and completely unnecessary, to say the least. Cops in this city are in the news every single week for needless crimes, whether it is grand larceny or murder for hire, and the level of racism, though it exists, is in its waning years. Racism is no longer a reason for violence. The open admittance of white people stealing countless families retirement funds through multi-billion dollar ponzi scams is though....
